The Moorings introduced a new dining experience in Arlington Heights, and we are proud to have played a role in bringing its restaurant concepts to life.
In partnership with The Moorings, we branded each of the community’s dining venues, developing logos, messaging, visual identities, comprehensive brand guides, and menu templates designed to support a cohesive and memorable guest experience. Each concept was created to reflect The Moorings’ blend of hospitality, local history, community connection, and modern innovation.
The newly announced dining program includes E.B. Wheeler’s, Dunton’s Eatery & Social, and Harvest Market, each offering a distinct experience while contributing to a larger vision for vibrant, destination-style dining within the senior living community.

A Taste of Arlington Heights Arrives—with a Surprising New Address
Destination Dining, Historic Roots, and a Little Robot Magic Come Together at The Moorings
Arlington Heights, IL — New culinary experiences are opening in Arlington Heights, and food lovers are about to discover something unexpected!
Picture a collection of restaurant venues brought together in a warm, social setting featuring an inviting bar with an outdoor terrace and fire pits, comfortable club chairs alongside classic dining tables, a double-sided fireplace, and local artwork that celebrates the community. Imagine choosing from an irresistible lineup: pepperoni and burrata flatbread from the pizza oven; grilled salmon greens bowl drizzled with lemon dill vinaigrette; gooey three‑cheese grilled cheese; grilled tofu bánh mì on a crusty baguette; baked oysters; tender filet mignon; or pan‑seared whitefish topped with Cajun remoulade. And to end on a sweet note, indulge in homemade carrot cake, key lime pie or turtle cheesecake topped with local Morkes chocolate crumbles.
Now for the twist: all of this is opening inside a senior living community.
It’s all at The Moorings, where inspired dining, hospitality, and community come together in a way Arlington Heights has never seen before.
The April 27 grand opening, ribbon-cutting celebration and tasting tour welcomed U.S. Representative Nicole Grasse, Mayor Jim Tinaglia, Village Trustees, and distinguished guests—including three unique newcomers: service robots. During the event, the robots greeted guests and passed hors d’oeuvres, offering a preview of their future role as permanent members of The Moorings team, delivering meals and busing tables while adding innovation and delight to everyday dining.
The new dining experiences are rooted in local history, beginning with E.B. Wheeler’s, a modern supper club inspired by the iconic E.B. Wheeler Round Barn that still stands on the property today. Built in the early 20th century by Elbert B. Wheeler, a visionary farmer known for ingenuity, the barn was a symbol of innovation, purpose, and community.
That legacy continues at E.B. Wheeler’s, where scratch-made dishes balance refinement with familiarity. Starters include crispy onion rings, baked Charleston crab dip, and oysters La Scala finished with cognac, while mains range from homestyle meatloaf and grilled mushroom steak to filet mignon. Seasonal menus and monthly Chef’s Select dinners create a setting ideal for lingering conversations and memorable meals.
Equally vibrant is Dunton’s Eatery & Social, an all-day bar-and-bistro experience designed for great drinks, flavorful food, and lively conversation. Named for Arlington Heights founder Asa Dunton, the restaurant honors a pioneer who saw opportunity in open prairie and helped build the community. Today, that welcoming spirit lives on through fresh fruit smoothies, specialty coffees, garden bowls, flatbread pizzas, a signature cheeseburger, and fresh-baked pastries.
Also new is Harvest Market, blending everyday convenience with fresh, thoughtfully prepared options. The market features crisp salads, healthy meals, curated essentials, and partnerships with local favorites like Cap’s Ice Cream and Morkes Chocolates—perfect for family visits or satisfying a sweet craving.
What makes these openings truly remarkable isn’t just the food, the history, or even the robots—it’s the idea that great dining and vibrant social spaces belong at every stage of life. At The Moorings, a senior living community has become one of Arlington Heights’ most exciting new culinary destinations.
And everyone is invited to the table.
